Telecom Karma for your arse.
I love when a customer goes behind my back and signs a contract with a new vendor only to find out that they need to purchase $6,000 worth of equipment to make that new system work with their old one. Ummm, that great deal is not so great anymore is it? Of course I have to play it off like, Sir, I’ll see if I can get you a discount on that $6,000 worth of equipment. Of course I’ll do no such thing and make him feel stupid for not saying anything. The worse part is that the other vendor just assumed that it would work without even needing to tell us. My guess is that he even said not to tell us anything because he was afraid of losing the deal once the customer found out what the cost would be.
Freaking idiots that think they know better than anyone. It’s gets worse, the customer actually thought they could program the system themselves. Ummm, sorry, programming the system will require an engineer. That will be another $1,000 worth of labor.
The best question of the day came from this same customer. He asked if he could get the software on trail basis. No, you tool, you may not.
